How to Develop Competent & Aggressive Business Leadership
To understand what it takes to succeed in leadership, ask yourself which characteristics you can identify in the most successful leaders you’ve observed. To consistently motivate a full commitment to strong performance from everyone that follows your lead, strive for development in these fundamental areas.
Listen
Improving your team’s skills and strategies requires gaining information and insights offered by your supervisors, peers and employees.
Be Consistently Positive
People are drawn to individuals who exhibit a positive outlook. Typically, positivity attracts opportunity, and negativity meets with resistance.
Assert Yourself
Think through issues thoroughly, then confidently offer your opinions and ideas. Remember, everyone has occasionally had suggestions rejected.
Use Your Strengths
You have unique natural abilities, as well as skills you’ve developed on your own. Create opportunities to demonstrate your strengths. For example, if you have strong writing skills, offer to provide written presentations. If you speak well, volunteer for oral presentations.
Work on Your Weaknesses
Admit your mistakes. Success is not the result of never failing, but of learning from mistakes. Appoint more talented team members to tasks in which you don’t excel and learn from their experience.
Continue Educating Yourself
Effective leadership requires the continued development of competencies. Enjoy learning throughout your life, and continue deepening your knowledge of your field.
Set Clear Goals and Follow Through
Specifically define your goal, and fully commit to a realistic plan for advancing toward it. Then, enjoy following through. Expect struggles, but don’t ever allow them to deter you from your path.
Be Passionate
Choosing a career you’re excited about yields a rewarding life. Further, people are much more motivated by leaders devoted to their missions. Show your team you care about their progress and appreciate their contributions.
Honor Your Morals and Values
Make choices consistent with your sensibilities. This permits you to operate free of subconscious burdens that can impact performance. People emulate their leaders, so strive to model the qualities you want your team members to exhibit.
Seek Increased Responsibility
Conduct yourself as a management candidate. Find ways to add value to your role. After you believe you’ve effectively demonstrated leadership qualities, clearly request fuller utilization of your potential—in management.
Motivate Others
Look beyond your group’s shortcomings. Recognize, cultivate and fully utilize each staff member’s skills. Your success can only be as great as your team’s collective success. Inspire others to reach their highest potential for success.

The Biblical Foundation of Leadership
Whatever situation you are in today, you are a leader because you have influence over someone, somewhere. That might be as a father, mother, friend, boss or pastor—but whatever your situation, you are a leader. Thankfully, the Bible is full of advice and lessons we can use to improve our ability to lead. From the wisdom of Solomon and other writers in Proverbs to the lives of leaders such as David, Moses and Abraham, the examples are many. Of course the greatest of these lessons comes from the life of Jesus, who led his team of 12, a mixture of imperfect outcasts and nobodies, to start a faith that—2,000 years later—has more than two billion followers.
Leadership Lessons We Can Learn From Jesus Today
- Jesus was a servant leader – Jesus was willing to humble himself and serve others around him, focusing on helping them grow and fulfill their potential. How are you serving and investing in others in your serving team or business? Read Mark 10: 42-45.
- Jesus invested in unlikely people – Not only did Jesus spend his life—and death—investing in people, but he spent much of his time with those whom others would have readily dismissed. Who around you can you lift up and help? In John 4, Jesus spent time talking to a Samaritan woman and, as a result, many in her village became followers. However, culturally, he should have avoided her because she was a woman alone, unmarried and a Samaritan. Jesus invested in people others would have avoided.
- Even Jesus had time for self-development – As leaders, we sometimes feel guilty for taking time away for ourselves, but it is essential. In the Bible, we frequently see Jesus take time away from the disciples to be with God. We need this too—both time to work on our leadership skills and time with God to ensure we have a close relationship with Him.
There are many more lessons we can learn from the life of Jesus. Why not spend some time this week studying the life of Jesus and focusing on how he went about leading his followers?

Healthy Hair
Hair that is dull, frayed, or damaged from the use of dyes and chemicals is considered unhealthy hair. By following a few simple steps, damaged locks can be avoided and healthy hair can be easily achieved.
Make Healthy Lifestyle Choices
- A balanced diet is the key to thick and healthy hair. Consuming food rich with Vitamin B, iron, and protein will not only lead to great hair but healthy nails and skin as well.
- Hair needs protection from the heat and cold just as much as your skin does. Neglecting to do so will result in dry, brittle hair. When the sun is beaming, hats will prevent it from getting fried. In the winter time, avoid going outside with wet hair because hair will freeze and become frayed.
- Protecting hair from chemicals is also essential. Exposing hair to chemicals such as, chlorine, will result in less than luscious hair.
Implement Healthy Styling and Washing Routines
- In order to achieve healthy hair, changing one’s washing routine is important. Washing everyday along with using hot water can cause excessively oily hair, therefore, cleansing hair just four times a week using cold water will keep oil glands in balance.
- Hair is fragile and needs to be treated gently to remain healthy. After rinsing hair, gently dry it with a towel. Wringing it out can cause split ends and breakage. Additionally, opt for a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush. This will allow for tangles to be worked through smoothly.
- Avoiding using heat styling devices is an easy and excellent way to preserve healthy hair. Excessive use of such tools can cause hair to become dry and lead to split ends. If use of flat irons, blow dryers, and curling irons is inevitable, use them on low temperature settings and use a protective serum beforehand.
- My recommendation: Chi iron guard “this is a phenomenal product for any and every hair texture. I use this product before every flat iron service. Not only is chi iron guard a great shield against the heat, it also leaves the hair weightless with lots of body, movement and shine.
Use Healthy Hair Products and Refrain From Damaging Treatments
- Some hair products on the market claim to provide great results, but often dry hair. This is because of a cleanser found in shampoos called sulfates, which strip the natural oils from hair. To avoid this, switch to products made with natural ingredients.
- My recommendation: Mizani purifying shampoo ‘This is definitely one of my favorite cleaners. Its a weightless clarifying shampoo that doesn’t leave a nasty film over the hair shaft when done washing.
- Salons today offer services such as Brazilian blowouts and chemical curlers, but these treatments can cause significant damage to hair because of the amount of heat they use. Staying away from these services and instead giving yourself oil treatments at home will lead to soft, shiny hair.
